today's
laugh Our baby just cut two teeth. I told my wife she should be ashamed of herself letting the baby play with a knife. What happened to that stork of yours? Smith, you have been employed by me for five years. To mark my appreciation of this you will henceforth be addressed as Mr. Smith. 1901 Innes Band. If some one discovered that soul stirring music could be blown out of a tin horn the world would marvel and with reason. Yet, that would not be much more remarkable than what Innes, now known as the greatest of band masters, did with the trombone. When he took up the trombone it was known solely as an instrument of percussion, and he astonished the world by demonstrating that it was also a solo instrument, capable of finely expressing all kinds of passion. His festivals at Atlantic City during the past summer have been the gathering place for all that most brilliant, socially in that delightful watering place. Few of the 250,000 visitors to the great American summer city would be willing to admit that they had gone there and back without going to hear Innes. During his engagement here on next Wednesday afternoon, Innes will introduce some of his most notable Atlantic City successes, chief among which is his method of giving "Scenes from Grand Opera," and for which purpose he brings with him six well known operatic artists headed by Alberti, the famous Baritone.
