VALUABLE PAPERS RECOVERED. The iron box which was stolen from the B.F. Thomas lumber yard safe last evening, was found yesterday morning at the brick yards by two boys. Fred Robb and Mart Bloom. The box had been broken open with rocks and the contents scattered. The boys were returning home from the slaughter house north of there and ran across the box in the passage way between two of the brick yard sheds. They did not realize that their find was of any importance, and said nothing about it until the evening when noticing that one of the notes was signed by Ben Head, Louie Head and Earl Hurst, they took it and some of the other papers to Ben Head to inquire if it was valuable. Ben at once saw that the box and whole contents had likely been found. He took the two boys and Officer Drake and notified Mr. Thomas and all searched the vicinity of where the box had been found. The high wind during the day had scattered the papers for a considerable distance, but with the aid of the light of a lantern most of them were found. This morning a hunt by daylight was rewarded by the recovery of some more which had blown into stray nooks and corners. Mr. Thomas is much pleased by the recovery of the papers for they include some personal notes payable to him of which he had no list or record. No trace of the missing watch has yet been discovered.
