Have you read this

can telepathically communicate with the insects

INTERESTING MELANGE.
A Chronological Record of Events as they have
Transpired in the City and County since our last Issue.
Library Notes.
In honor of the visitors
brought to the City by the meeting of the Southwestern
Missouri Teachers Association, the library has
arranged a special display of picture bulletins and
mounted pictures in the Childrens room. The
material used is that which has been collected during the
last year and is now at the service of the teachers of
the city schools. In addition to this the books of
particular interest in this study of the various branches
of teaching have been placed together on the reading room
tables for consultation.
The bulletin board shows
the portraits of four noted people, whose birthdays occur
the first week of December, Queen Alexandra of England,
Warren Hastings, the first governor of British India,
Thomas Carlyle, and Bjornstjerne Bjornson. Bjornson is
represented in the library by his "Arne, and the
Fisher Lassie," and "The Happy Boy," which
has been taken our an average of every two weeks since
its purchase.

Nodler Receives
Award.
News release.
The Missouri
Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored Sen.
Gary Nodler with a new award designed to honor
lawmakers who have shown unwavering support of
pro-jobs legislation - the 100% For Jobs Award.
For decades, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and
Industry has measured Missouri lawmakers
support of pro-jobs legislation through a rating
system of key legislative votes for that
particular session. Legislators who receive a 70
percent or higher rating are considered strong
supporters of pro-jobs agenda.
"Thats
what makes this award so significant," said
Daniel P. Mehan, Missouri Chamber president and
CEO. "Lawmakers who make it into the 100%
category are invaluable to our legislative
efforts and deserve to be recognized for their
consistent, unwavering support of Missouri
business and their pro-jobs stance and support,
and Sen. Nodler exemplifies this award."
This award will be
presented each legislative session to lawmakers
who earn a 100 percent rating with the Missouri
Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Talkin'
Mornin'
Livin in a hunderd year old house makes ya
wonder how folks used ta dress around the house
durin the winter at the turn of the
century. Those coal burners couldnt have
been near as efficient as the heatin
systems these days. Everone musta gathered
in the kitchen and closed off the rest of the
house. I can remember
one room at my grandmothers house that was
always closed off from the rest of the house. I
think she did it when the grandkids were around
just so they wouldnt go in there and play.
Didnt work. It was the only room in the
place the grown-ups didnt hang around in.
They seemed more interested in keepin close
to the fire. Could be Grandma kept that room cold
so the kids would have a place to play.
Didnt figure the grown ups would bother
em. She was sly that way.
This is some fact, but mostly,

Nutrition
by Mari An WillisWhew! Just enjoyed two weeks worth of
company. Realize that my stamina is not what it
used to be with most active
Granddaughters. Did more
shopping than necessary...dont know how
people can shop for entertainment or be
shop-a-holics as the massive amount of
merchandise just overwhelms me...watched lots of
people complain they were overbuying and new it.
Why?
If you choose to be out in the
crowds, remember you immune system is working
hard to keep you healthy. Beta glucan has been
proven to be a very strong bolster for the immune
system. When my Mother was in hospice care, it
was a bad winter for flu and colds. We supplied
her healthcare assistants(our family too!) with
the nutritional support of this product so they
would not expose our Mother to any outside colds
or other uncomfortable illness. Much to their
surprise they stayed healthy as co-workers became
ill.
An emergency care worker was
telling me the number of people who show up with
indigestion after the holidays. Of course,
careful handling of foods is important. If
overeating is the problem, a nice comforting cup
of digestion tea may be beneficial. We find that
fennel/catnip tincture in a cup of hot water will
settle the stomach quite rapidly. It has also
made my little grandkids comfortable if they have
a bout of colic.
Please remember to cover if you
cough or sneeze.
