today's
laugh
"Tell me the story of the
police raiding your fraternity."
"Oh, thats a closed chapter now."
Hospital Nurse: "You say
financial difficulties brought you here?"
Patient: "Yes. I saw my tailor coming,
crossed the road to avoid him, and halfway across
I saw another creditor on the other side. I
hesitated, and went under a car."
A bird in the hand is bad table
manners.

Just Jake
Talkin'
Mornin'
I always figured
February as "hump month." Once ya get
over the hump its March and that means
spring is around the corner.
Sure, lot a folksll tell
ya some of the worst of winter is still around in
March, but by that time spring fever is
startin to rumble and I figure you can
always make it through a few bad days.
Bein the short month, the
last couple a weeks are gone before ya know it.
One thing I could never figure
out is why February is spelled the way it is.
Ive never heard anyone pronounce it like
its spelled. No one takes the time to
pronounce the r and u.
I guess in all, February is a
cold, miserable month thats always
causin trouble.) Thirty days hath
September... except February which has
twenty-eight, unless its a leap year...) At
least theres not much of it.
This is some fact, but mostly,
Just Jake Talkin.

Here's A Tip
By
JoAnn Derson "Purchase a brightly colored
garbage can to corral outdoor toys in the yard.
You can get them in red or bright blue these
days, so theyll stand out from the regular
trash can and you wont get confused."
R.R. in Florida
"I wash and save
the little plastic containers that hold
condiments from take-out orders. They are
fantastic for keeping my extra buttons organized
in my sewing box." J.J. in
Pennsylvania
"This might not be
a tip per se, but direct deposit has been a
lifesaver for me. I bank with a credit union, and
the only branch location is way across town. With
direct deposit, I almost never go to the actual
bank, and that works for me. I even got my
paycheck deposited when the mail was delayed
recently." D.S. in Maryland
"We have a
copier/scanner at home now, and we have started
making a copy of the Sunday crossword. My husband
and I work on it at the same time. Its
turned into a little game to see who can finish
first." C.G. in Georgia
"When filling your
weekly pill minder, have a pair of tweezers
handy. It will cut the aluminum foil on the top
of the pill bottle, it works well to get the
cotton out of the bottle, and just in case you
drop a pill in the wrong compartment, it works
great to remove it and put it in the correct
one." A.S. in Colorado
We all know how handy
duct tape is for all sorts of repairs, but did
you know it is just as nifty for quick
decoration? It comes in all sorts of colors and
even designs nowadays. I recently gave new life
to a flowerpot by giving it a quick wraparound
with hot-pink duct tape. It looks great.
