Natural Nutrition
By
Mari An WillisGuest author, Mary Chandler
As I turn 25 and
have a daughter of my own, I realize how much I
am like
my Mom. When my sisters and I were younger, she
used home remedies, herbs, and homeopathic
medicine to heal our aches, scrapes and pains. I
now do the same for Emily, our 2 year old
daughter. My husband and I are blessed with a
healthy daughter, but there are still times she
encounters various childhood situations that are
in need of a good "cure." To ease the
pain of cutting teeth, we use 100% natural
teething gel and Homeopathic teething tablets.
Once those pearly whites finally came through,
Zylitol toothpaste was a must have. As Emily
began walking, the Arnica gel was always handy to
rub on a fresh bruise. Arnica also helps a sore
muscle that climbers, soon turned fallers, often
develop.
Nutritional
awareness is more important to me now than in the
past. Emily relies on us to get the proper
nutrition for her quickly-growing body. Like many
toddlers, Emily has phases where she doesnt
like to eat certain foods. For those times, we
make her an Animal Parade protein shake to ensure
that she still gets the proper nutrients.
Weve also learned that buying organic
products helps keep artificial growth hormones
and unnecessary chemicals out of her body. While
shes developing bones, muscles, nerves, and
soft tissues, it is best to use
only natural building blocks. Taking the time to
read labels is time well spent.
While homeopathic remedies are good to have on
hand, sometimes its the simplest of
remedies that make things better. A hug, kiss,
lullaby, fresh air, and sunshine often work the
best.
I wish a Happy
Mothers Day to all of the special women
like my Mom who make a positive difference in
peoples lives. Mothers Day has a new
meaning to me, as I truly feel blessed to
experience the love a Mother has for her child.
Life is full of blessings that come in all sizes.
Enjoy them all!
